4. LbL Assembled Micro/Nanostructures
The assembly of multifunctional biomimetic microcapsules/spheres at the molecular level is of tremendous interest for biophysical research and the biomedical field. LbL assembly has been extensively used to fabricate hollow multifunctionalized microcapsules/spheres since it allows an unprecedented variety of materials to be assembled into microcapsules/spheres using simple, controllable, inexpensive procedures. Our group has achieve great progress on LbL-assembled biomimetic microcapsule fabricated by applying polysaccharides and proteins as assembly units. These biomimetic microcapsules have been applied in drug delivery, blood substitutes and other biomedical fields. Chem. Rev. 2015, 115, 1597; Chem. Eur. J. 2015, 21, 520; Chem.
